I booked 2 tickets through http://www.irctc.co.in (tatkal) because the availability status was showing as 5 . however after i confirmed the tickets and took a printout the status was showing as CKWL 78 and 79 … I have no idea what CK is . calvin klein waiting list ??? also why is the website showing 5 available when there were no confirmed tickets anyway . Really got duped by irctc.co.in. if these guys cant handle the online stuff it would be better to do it the old way.. paying the TT a couple of hundred bucks for a confirmed ticket is way better that getting duped by national railway .

Thnx a lot ……I got my answer ……….really irctc sucks ……..its better to book tickets by waiting in line at the reservation counter ……… very disgusting e-comm site ………

yup, there’s a high chance of it getting cleared. But sometimes you have to wait till the last moment.

ckwl means confussion what irctc given it wil confirm or not .

CKWL is the only waiting list within the tatkal quota. There is no RAC. However it’s limited only to the tatkal quota. It has no effect on the General Quota or Ladies Quota or any other quota.
